The Orange Foundation opened the reception of applications for the eighth edition of its Women and Technology Award, until next February 28.
According to the entity, this recognition distinguishes women who stand out for their work in areas such as social innovation, technology and/or communication, developing a personal and professional career as a fundamental reference for other women.
The result of this award will be known next March, within the framework of the events planned for the 11th celebration of the 'Women who transform the World' Meeting, organized by the Segovia City Council.
The Women and Technology-Orange Foundation Award is endowed with 4,000 euros gross. This cash prize may be received by the winner herself or, if she so decides, it may be donated to the non-profit organization chosen by her.
Regarding the proposal of candidates and the award, the candidacies can be presented by the applicants or also by third parties or entities, by non-profit organizations or by any other group. The proposals must contain relevant information about the candidates, as well as a video in Spanish of the applicant and her resume. Along with the candidacy, additional information may also be sent, including duly signed letters of support.
The prize, which is awarded to a single person, will be decided by a jury made up of representatives appointed by the Orange Foundation and the Segovia City Council, who will choose a maximum of six names among the proposed candidates. The jury will assess the work of each applicant and will indicate which are the contributions of special relevance of the proposed candidates, along with the reasoned report that will be submitted to the organizing committee. The juries may use any external advice they deem appropriate.
In the last edition, the Women and Technology-Fundación Orange Award went to Almudena Román, General Director of Banking for Individuals at ING in Spain, who, from her position, according to the contest, is a benchmark for girls and young people who want to develop in the future of your professional career in an innovative organization with significance in the transformation of society.
